5. Extract Gold from Quartz Powder:

• Panning Method: Combine the crushed quartz with water in a gold pan and agitate it to separate gold from lighter materials. The dense gold will settle in the bottom.
• Sluice Method: Direct a flow of water through the material and over a sluice box to trap gold particles in its riffles.
• Chemical Methods: For extremely fine gold particles, consider cyanidation or other chemical extraction processes. This is more complex and should only be done by experienced professionals.

6. Handle with Care:

• Dispose of quartz dust safely: Silica dust from crushed quartz is hazardous if inhaled. Always use a dust mask or respirator and crush materials in well-ventilated or outdoor areas.
• Safety precautions: Wear protective goggles and gloves to avoid injury from sharp edges or flying debris.

Tips for Maximizing Gold Recovery:

• Inspect all crushed material carefully, as larger nuggets or flakes may not require further processing.
• Reprocess tailings (waste material) to ensure no gold is left behind.
• Take samples from multiple locations of the quartz rock, as gold is not always evenly distributed.
